SV Werder Bremen is a German soccer team from the Hanseatic city of Bremen. The club was founded in 1899 and plays at home at the Weserstadion named after the river flowing close by the stadium. The club has won the Bundesliga 4 times meaning that it has the right to wear 1 star above the crest. If Werder wins a 5th title it will be able to add a second star to the crest. The most notable coach was Otto Rehhagel who became a Werder institution during his tenure from 1981 -1995.
